Also commonly rendered as 尸棄佛. Also written 式棄, 式詰, 尸棄那, 罽那尸棄; crested, or a flame; translated as fire 火 fire; Ratnaśikhin 刺那尸棄 occurs in the Abhidharma.(Pāli Sikhi-buddha) In the Abhiniṣkramaṇa-sūtra 本行經 it is 螺髻 a shell like tuft of hair. The second of the Seven Buddhas of antiquity 過去七佛, born in Prabhadvaja 光相城 as a Kṣatriya and attained enlightenment under a lotus plant. Tradition says that he was born at a time when the normal life span was 70,000 years. The 999th Buddha of the last kalpa, whom Śākyamuni is said to have met. In the Lotus Sutra, a Mahā-brahma, whose name Śikhin is defined as 頂髻 or 火災頂 having a flaming tuft on his head; connected with the world-destruction by fire. 法華經 T 262.9.24b14[1]
